Trunk or Treat!

So Happy Halloween everyone! Ok, so this year didn't turn out exactly how I had imagined it. I am supposed to be Kingston. You know, Kingston, my little baby boy who just happens to still be inside of Becki for now. He has already received like 4 onesies of lions so that's why I'm wearing lion stuff. I had to explain my outfit to almost everyone so yeah, it could have been better. But I was wearing an adult diaper. Seriously I did but I shouldn't have. No one could even see it and it just felt really really weird. Have you ever worn one of those? I don't recommend it.

Now my most creative crafty wife on the other hand looked super cool as Bedtime Bear! She made the whole costume herself of course. She's supposed to be Kingston's bear. So we go together! We went to our ward party for dinner and a really cool spook house. Our ward rocks. A lot of people put tons of work into it.

Then they had a Trunk or Treat out in the parking lot. All the kids just go around and around getting tons o' candy. We even had popcorn and a snow cone machine. I loved the trunk all decked out looking like a monster.

Happy FHE

We had a super fun FHE tonight. Rennai and Fran came over for dinner and then we sang a Hymn and watched one of Elder Holland's awesome talks ("From the tongue of Angels" April 2007) It was a super good talk we all enjoyed...

Then! We got to carve pumpkins.... You can see Fran carving his very FIRST pumpkin. Can't tell though cuz it looks sooo AMAZING! Then you can see my pumpkin belly... yes it's bigger than a pumpkin :0

Bret carved the ghastly Ghost, I did Sally (from the nightmare before Christmas), Rennai did Corpses Bride and Fran did Jack. It was super fun especially once we lit them up and saw them come to life!

All work and NO play

Work has been real tough lately... NOT. Basically I have been decorating pumpkins for fun and then they sell them for 3x the cost. These are not your average Jack-0-Laterns though. First off the pumpkins are FAKE. What's up with that?

Park City

My parents really hooked it up and let us come stay with them for a few day in their Park City condo at the Westgate Resort. What a fun week! Becki and I got to first hang out with her family, then with Chad, Lisa, Tami, and one of our favorite families, the Johnson's! They all came over Sunday night for a big dinner to eat and visit. It was so fun to see all their families getting so big and all grown up!

Eric Jeppsen, who was with me my whole mission from the MTC in Provo, to the 6 month detour in Virginia, on down to Arequipa, and finally back to the States. He lives in Park City right now (lucky!) and so he came over to visit as well.

On Monday we visited the Olympic Park which was kind of cool. I missed the entire 2002 Winter Olympics so I enjoyed going through the little museum they have there. Then we strolled down old town main street in Park City and got some ice cream from the Chocolate Factory. Good times.

Hiking in Midway

Utah in the fall is extremely exceptional. We went for a hike after the morning session of conference on Sunday. It was as close to perfect as you can get!

Conference in SLC

General Conference is always a spiritual re-fuel that help whip me back in shape to remember what really matters most in life. Dad, Mom, Chad and I drove down to SLC early Sunday morning from the resort in Park City to attend the morning session. However many times I attend live, each time is just as impressive as the first. To see that building filled to the brim with faithful, eager latter-day saints all ready to listen to a prophet of God is just awesome. This was my first time back to Salt Lake since my wedding day over a year ago on Aug. 19th '06. The temple there is climbing up my list of favorite temples. My favorite talk was probably Elder Holland's about the true nature of the Godhead. Talk about tell it how it is! Bam! Lots of old friends in Virginia Beach where I served for the first 6 months of my mission needed to hear that talk. I'm stoked that Elder Eyring has been "knighted" into the first presidency. Hopeless....

If these images are more than familiar to you, you are most likely a hopeless addict like myself. While I was on vacation, time stopped long enough for me to do some recreational reading by myself so I decided to find out what all the fuss is about regarding "Twilight". Of course by the second chapter I was more than just hooked. I can't be sure because i have never been addicted to anything in the past but the Twilight serious is definitely NOT something i could put down and walk away from. I'm so serious about it that I almost don't want to recommend it to anyone because i would hate to subject them to the empty desperate feeling you WILL get as you finish the last chapter of Eclipse knowing that the next book won't be out until FALL 2008. Cruel I know.

Needless to say Stephanie Meyer is officially one of the most talented writers EVER! Truly hypnotic I tell you. She is my favorite ever, not just because she grew up where I did and because she is LDS, but because she has written a phenomenon. I mean, her books bumped all 7 of the Harry Potter Books out of the #1 spot on New York Times Best Seller list. She is that good!

Let this be a warning to all you HUSBANDS!

Nesting stage?

I know pregnant women supposedly go through a nesting stage where they clean or cook a lot, I think mine is crafting... While I was in Utah my mom and I made 4 blankets and 2 yankies (mini blankets), and a boppy cover (nursing pillow). We also cut out a billion quilting squares. My mom gets most the credit for the crib blanket because she pretty much master that one her self since the material was impossible to work with. Turned out Perfect though. My mother-in-law gave me the idea for the fuzzy borders... so fun and soft! I love both of them!!!

Great benifits

As if having the easiest job ever, that is more like playtime instead of work time wasn't great enough, my job also comes with some awesome benefits, like a great discount and free classes. I figured I better take advantage while I still have free time so I started taking this portrait class 2 weeks ago and I am starting to love it. The instructor is extremely knowledgeable and has opened my eyes to the world of drawing. I can't wait to get better by the end of the 6 weeks.
