A Serious Matter

When it comes to London FOOD is a serious matter. When she gets her hands on something edible it is all business to her. Her solemn duty is to scarf it down before it has the chance to get away, even if it means gagging and choking it down. She is like her daddy, she can pack it away like a man.

That's my princess.

Tea with the Queen

Miss Lo turned ONE on Friday the 19th of February and so we had a special tea party in honor of her majesty. This was something I have been waiting for since she was born. My only daughter's 1st Birthday party and I was determined to go overboard for her special day. It was so fun to have something NON work related to put some thought into and I wanted it to be fun for all who attended. Every detail was thought out and planned.

{There was a table for the adults and one for the little girls with tiny appetizer silverware and handmade napkins from vintage material. Each table was adorned with fresh flowers and embossed teapots.}

Her sweet cousins and friends brought her the most adorable gifts and she has had soooo much fun playing with her girly toys ever since. I wanted to thank everyone who came and especially for all of your help setting up! It was the sweetest of days. Thank you.

Fatty

Fatty aka Lo. What can I say? How 'bout what everyone else says? "She is so FAT!" It's all in her head, no really her cheeks are what make her seem fat. She is fashionably bald as well. At 10 months she has the same amount of hair as she did the day she was born. Headbands anyone? Oh yes, the bigger the better! She has a thing for paper products including but not limited to books, boxes, magazines, envelopes and wrappers and she will tear them into tiny pieces and eat them up unless stopped! The horror! She also has been experimenting with walking and climbing the stairs. She started a few weeks ago but like her mother is uncommitted to perfecting the art. She's not a cry baby or a whiner but the child has lungs. She is what I like to call an echo. You say "ahh" and she will say "ahh" right back but louder. And when she is hungry it's "AHH AH AHHHH" until she gets that food in her mouth. Now would also be a good time to mention she bites. Not a playful nibble, oh no, more like "are you edible? can I bit off this appendage?" pit bull bite. Chomp Chomp. So don't put your finger or anything with nerves in the trap unless you want it amputated or have an uncanny urge to feel pain. Fatty here also likes to make the rounds. She will open, dump out, pull out and explore everything in reach as a daily routine. {yah, my house is clean. NOT!} I recently discovered she can take the cap off her bottle. Crap! It's a relief when she goes down for bed but I will admit 30 minutes later I wanna wake her up to feel her brightness in my heart again. Dear Fatty, please don't grow up.

Different Tastes

I am learning very quickly that my children have different tastes in what they like to eat. Kingston is a junkie like me. London is more organic. Who knew?

Kisses for Mommy

London has started giving hugs and kisses. I can't help but feel completely happy after a tight squeeze and a little wet nuzzle from my sweet cakes...

It has begun...

Despite my efforts to prolong the inevitable, Lo is now crawling and climbing into everything. I know it may have seemed like bad parenting when I intentionally kept her from situations that would promote crawling and yet it has begun. She is terribly cute and determined much to my demise. How can something so sweet and adorable be so fast, have such a death grip and a heightened awareness for breakable things and electronics. Blast!

I truly love my crazy life.

Bone Baby and play things

Miss Bones is so cute I can't help but smile and kiss her cheeks.
Kingston cracks me up when I find play things staged in little corners of my house. They must be good friends.

For the Phone of it: Part 2

I know I have severely neglected our blog and sadly I don't have much time to post or many pictures to show for the last month but here are some from my phone {again}.

{moments like these make my life perfect the way it is}
{She took a sympathy nap for me in the middle of floor}
{apologies to all the Target shoppers who had to listen to "This is why I'm Hot" over and over again while we had a personal dance concert in isle 9}

{I encourage our children to indulge in creative activities however destructive it might be}

Sometimes

Sometimes when I watch London smiling at nothing I wonder who she is smiling at. Sometimes I wonder if the soothing presence of her company is because the light of Christ is so pure within her. Sometimes I wonder if she will tell me something sacred if I listen quietly enough. Sometimes I wonder if I am her mother so I can teach her or if she is my daughter so I can learn from her. Sometimes I wonder if I will be able to protect her from pain and suffering. Sometimes I hope she will be able to infect others with her sweetness. Sometimes when she looks at me with adoration I think that Father is telling me he loves me directly. Sometimes when she is sleeping in her bed I quietly sneak in just to hold her. And sometimes I let myself believe that I actually deserve her, Sometimes.

1st Doll

London is able to hold things now so I jumped at the chance to get her, her very first doll. {girl toys, finally something I can relate too!} It's just a little cheapy doll but it looks just like her. Kingston always puts the doll in the crib. So cute.

Way back when

My mother saved many of our baby clothes from when I was little Which I now have. I love the vintage feel and the detail on these outfits so I couldn't resist doing a shoot of London wearing them.

Bret suggested I put a picture of Lo up for viewers to compare {my bad}.
{This one is just funny}

Which she is me?

People have frequently commented that Kb and Lo look just like Bret and so I have started to feel sad that my kids have only small parts of me in them. However, once I obtained these baby pictures of me from my dad my confidence was rewed.

I knew I recognized Lo's chubby cheeks from somewhere. Look at those fatties!
Our smiles are one in the same. I see Lo smiling at me in this picture.

This is where I pig out {not much changes in 24 years} Sadly, Kingston has picked up on my habit for food and so you will recognize similar pictures of him chowing down on treats that toddlers should not be eating.

I still have a secret passion for Mcdonal's soft serve ice cream. {don't tell Rennai}

This is my bigger sister Missi holding me. I look happy don't I? Probably because I had just found out I had 4 older sister to love me and look out for me. I wish I could remember all the times they held me or played with me. {these sweet things have I over looked and taken for granted} I owe them so much for all they put up with because of me.
Here is where I am really impressed. Mom already has 6 kids and is pregnant with Twins yet my parents still had time to make the new babies (Brad and I) an exciting thing for the older kids. How lucky were we to have such fun and creative parents! Wish we could play again like we did back then.
