Since one of my favorite things in life is comedy and laughter that is what I decided to give all my friends and family this year for Christmas. I hope you aren't offended but it is kind of a re-gift since Tami first gifted it to me. This is what I would consider a gift that keeps on giving. You can watch it as many times as you want and laugh as loud as you want. Plus, Bonus! I won't be there to see if you hate it and don't like it at all, so you don't have to fake like you do. Amazing! Well, I had time to make a Christmas card and had them printed and they cut the image off and frankly I just haven't had the time to go back and forth to have them redo them and address them out in time for Christmas. This will hopefully be one of the only times I use Kingston as an excuse for not doing something the right way. So here is our Christmas card. Merry Christmas everyone!!! Sorry we are so lame!

Our 1st Family Pictures
We had our pictures done this weekend. We were so excited about how cooperative King was. He didn't fuss too much and stayed awake for most of them. It went perfect except for when he sprayed Bret and the Photographer mid-air. Haha!

Holiday Gathering
Kingston is so adorable in his car seat. I want to take a picture every time he is in it :)
Anyways, We went to my mom's house for a Christmas party. All the grandkids we so excited to meet their new cousin. Garrett was especially excited and interested. He was so soft and gentle and didn't want to let go of baby K. Kingston wants to grow up and be cute like all his cousins... but not anytime soon because mommy likes him small and cuddly.
We always do a gift exchange and all the grandkids usually get a fun gift from G-ma and G-pa.
This year all the kids got homemade stationary kits to write letters to G-ma and G-pa to keep in touch while they live in Utah. Grandma and Carli worked very hard to make them for everyone.
Then the adults exchanged gifts too. Carli and Paul got us The Bourne Collection. I am super duper excited about it. They got King a SkippyJon Jones book/doll.
I never heard of SkippyJon Jones before but it's so funny that the adults liked it as much as the kids. We wanna get King the whole collection now. (Thanks Carli and Paul) funny little chihuahua/cat.
We normally play nertz but Bret discovered his natural talent for Guitar Hero. Watching him was the best concert I've ever been too. He really was super good at it for his first time. He's so hot!
Yep, I am not used to being up all night so I sleep when I can... even though I missed out on the party :(

1st Dr. Appointment
On Wednesday Kingston got all ready for his first visit to Dr. Sotelo's (So Cute!)
He was weighed and measured again.
Then Dr. Sotelo checked everything else.
As you can see Kingston likes Dr. Sotelo. So does mommy, Grandma and aunt Carli who came with us. Kingston passed all his test and is doing great.

This truck is the first thing I have ever seen Bret get excited about! (Besides Suns games) This sucker is fully loaded with leathers seats, sun roof, 4 wheel drive, tow package, bed liner, roof rack, 6 disk changer and some other guy stuff I probably don't understand. It's pretty sweet and I hope it makes my baby (Bret) happy! He got a smoking deal on it and he deserves every single ounce of Horse Power in it.

More labor and delivery pix
My water broke in the middle of the night but I never got contractions so my mom and I went shopping for a few things and then out to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. She took this picture right before I was admitted to our room.
This is a close up of me right smack in the middle of a pleasant contraction... Never again!
This video is kind of embarrassing but funny nonetheless. It was taken right after the epidural kicked in. A night and day difference for those who were there.
This is me checking on my little guy in ICU. I really love this birthing center. They have baby lojack for all their patients. It's not really lojack but they do clamp a security device on each baby that will trigger all alarms if the baby is even close to an exit or somewhere they shouldn't be.
His bionic arm (IV). This thing was huge but necessary for his antibiotics and blood cultures. You can see his tiny heart monitor tab under his chin.
This cute little bootie is actually a pulse oximeter that tracks how much oxygen is in his blood. They let us keep all his little attachments and gadgets... my fav is his blood pressure cup.

Kingston's first diaper change
I knew most of you wouldn't believe it so I recorded Bret changing his 1st diaper!!! He did such a good job too. What a cute daddy!
Best Daddy
Bret stayed up super late last night trying to post about Kingston for me. He was soooo tired but he stayed up to post it anyways. He didn't even go straight to bed after that because I was super drugged and couldn't go down to the ICU to feed Kingston so Bret went down and fed him for me around 2am and changed his diaper. He has changed his poopy diapers 3 times already and I haven't even had to touch one yet. He said he is keeping score though so I better get on the ball. Anyways, He is soooo good to me and loves his boy so much. I had the nurse snap a pic of him out cold cuz he looks so cute. Did I pick a good one or what?
Happy Birthday Kingston!
Welcome to Earth son! Kingston is so glad to join us and we are totally excited to have him. He's a little swollen and wrinkly in his first pictures, but these were only hours after delivery. He was actually born on Friday the 7th but we've been a little busy so we have an excuse to post a little late.
Kingston's very first photo and my very first time holding him. This is right after the O.R. Becki was still in the back gettin' all stitched up and Kingston was transfered over to the ICU nursery to take his stats. He weighed in at 6 pounds 15 ounces and was 19 inches long. He was born at 7:11 pm and no Kevin, his middle name is not going to be "slurpie." We actually haven't decided on a middle name yet. Our goal is that he will have his full name by the time we leave the hospital, which is most likely Monday night or Tuesday.
Kingston and Becki's very first time breast feeding. Both Becki and Kingston are pro's already. And doesn't my wife look sooo stinkin' good! Even during delivery and after the C-section she's still smokin' hot. She is getting pretty swollen from all the fluids, pain meds, antibiotics and of course the surgery but they said it should go down within a few weeks.
Our happy little family. Becki did such a great job. She is going to be such an awesome Mommy!
Awwww look at my cute little baby boy! And he's so photogenic too! He's had more pics taken of him the 1st 24 hours of his life then some people do their entire live's!
Poor little guy- Because he was born with such a high temperature and with the risk of getting some of the infection passed on to from Becki, he needs to have some extra special care and monitoring given to him to make sure all is well and gets well. So they put both Becki and him on Antibiotics (the IV on his right hand) for a minimum of 48 hours. He has to stay in the nursery downstairs while Becki and I are upstairs. It has been kind of a bummer to not be able to hold him all the time right now, but we understand that he needs some extra lovin' right now. He is doing great though and we get to go feed him all the time or just go sit with him whenever we want to.
Here is my handsome son almost 1 day old and in his first onesie. We can't tell who he looks like yet. He looks so much better after only 1 day. The inflammation in his head has gone down a lot already and his color looks all glowing like a newborn now. He has this little tuft of hair right on top of his head that I like to stick up in a little mohawk. Haha.
Hey look , I shaved! Yes, the Infusion "Beard-off" was finally over so I could chop off the ridiculousness. Thanks honey for letting me look ugly, I mean extremely manly, for about a month!
Kingston has been such a pleasure. He almost never cries and when does it's soft and only for a short while. The nurses just love taking care of him because he is always so content and easy to please. We can't believe how smart he is. Everything has come so natural to him and he just makes us so happy. We just can't get enough!
We've been told that he might be released from ICU on Sunday which means we will get to have him in our room and he will be allowed visitors (over 13yrs) at that time.

Kingston on his way!
Hooray the big day finally arrived! Becki's water broke Friday morning the 7th all by itself. Her Mom had just flown into town and my Mom was on her way down from Eagar. So it was great timing. 
We were all so excited for Kingston's grand arrival. Rennai was there taking pictures and video-ing the entire day from 10 am until almost midnight. Becki wanted to make sure I gave a shout out to her for all her hard work and for being such an amazing friend. Most of these pictures were taken by her. Thank you Rennai! Friends don't come any better than you. And I also must thank my dear sweet sister and Mom for being there all day long too.
Becki got all checked in to the Scottsdale Osborne hospital at about 9:30 am on Friday the 7th . Pearl Harbor day, and his cousin Camry's 2 year birthday as well.
After 4 + hours of contractions Becki started to really feel the pain of the amazing uterus muscle go to work. I am trying to offer whatever little relief and support that I could. I think all men must feel somewhat useless at this point of a delivery. (No need to repeat her dramatic words during this low point...)
Here is Becki before the epidural. She wanted to attempt to do the delivery without one, but after 4-5 hours of doing breathing exercises and some stretches and what not she decided that was all the pain she needed to get the full experience. Her Mom was the professional comforter and supporter throughout the entire delivery. Being a nurse for 16 years and having 18 other grandkids helps to have just the right touch and know-how.
Here is happy Becki after the epidural. She progressed very well and was dilated up to a 7. We thought Kingston would be coming pretty soon as planned, but Becki had a placental infection which caused her to have a pretty intense fever. Well her temperature kept going higher and higher and so did the baby's. Her uterus kind of stopped progressing at that point and Kingston's heart rate increased until the Doctor's concluded that it was better for the baby to be out. One of my best friends Trey Whiting and my home teacher Platte Nielson rushed down to help give a Priesthood blessing (this was especially comforting for Becki) and then Becki was on her way to the O.R. for a C-Section.
They let both Becki's Mom and I to go into the Operating Room for the C-section. Scary stuff in here. All the meds and Becki's infection made her shake pretty badly the whole time. Becki was so brave and even though we really didn't want to deliver the baby this way, we knew it was the best decision at that time for both Mommy and baby.

Last night out-
So, the company I work for, Infusion Software, is awesome as you all know. Well this time they sent out at e-mail Thursday during the middle of the day asking if anyone wanted to go to the "Governor's Celebration of Innovation Ball." I guess Infusion won one of the main awards last year. So Infusion had a table of 10 they bought and needed people to fill the spots . I asked Becki thinking that because she was just about to have a baby and her Mom had just flown into town from Utah that she wouldn't want to go, but because she was just about to have a baby and her Mom had just flown into town she wanted to go! Go figure- Anyways , we got all dressed up and fought through traffic and finally made it just it time at the new Univ. of Phoenix stadium. We were the only 3 at our table, so we represented Infusion well. There were about 1500 people in attendance . We got to eat a fancy dinner that was delectable. The dessert, creme brulee, or however you spell it was worth the drive over alone. So good. Afterwards we went to Becki's sister's house and played some Nertz with Paul, Carli, Aubrey, Steven, Debi, Becki and me and well I bet you already know who won; me of course!

Routine
Bret and I have this little routine that is pretty hilarious with our dog Je Suis (Yes, she IS a dog). Every time we leave she has to stay behind the baby gate in the kitchen and she knows to go in there all by herself. So, when we get home she knows it's time to come out and that means she gets to go outside too. Bret usually unlatches the gate because when we get home from anywhere I usually have to go potty super bad. I'm sure any Mom's out there now how that is when you are pregnant! SO, the first thing Je Suis does when she gets out is run as fast as she can through all the rooms in our house trying to find me and then after she does then she runs outside with Bret. After finding me on the potty every time for 9 months she automatically runs straight to the bathroom now. One day, there were water tracks down the hall and the bathroom rug was all wet and so were Je Suis' feet. Hmmmmm? we wondered... Our theory is she assumed I was there and tried to jump in my lap before she realized I wasn't there, landing of course in the toilet. It was just too bad we didn't see it to laugh at her.
Yesterday, we followed the same routine and I was going potty (of course) and Je Suis was airborne into my lap before she even got around the corner. This confirmed our theory so we have decided to conduct an experiment and film her every time we get home to see if she will land in the toilet again.

Baby Shower
Shye and Kristen were so sweet and put together a baby shower for me on Saturday. With lots of good food and good company I had a great time. Kingston got lots of fun stuff from all the guests and he can't wait to come out and use it all. We are truly so blessed to have such amazing friends and family who constantly take care of us. Thanks to everyone who has helped and for your love and gifts!!!
