Different Tastes

I am learning very quickly that my children have different tastes in what they like to eat. Kingston is a junkie like me. London is more organic. Who knew?

Kisses for Mommy

London has started giving hugs and kisses. I can't help but feel completely happy after a tight squeeze and a little wet nuzzle from my sweet cakes...

We just couldn't say good bye

My mom had the Shirley Temple collection when I was growing up and I remember watching it while she was working on her many projects. This clip makes me want to go and buy the whole collection right now. I LOVE her.

Shirley also hosted and narrated The Shirley Temple Storybook Collection when she was older in 1958. Call me a weirdo but I NEED this collection for my kids. Are you kidding me with how stinking cute Winnie the Pooh is?

I think I am going to make a Shirley Temple wardrobe for Lo... and maybe buy her a curly wig since she is persistent on being bald.

Who doesn't love Shirley?

A Dandelion

King was instructed to pick a flower for mommy. I love how he gazed at the flower like he was evaluating it's value to see if it was a worthy gift for his beloved mother. Maybe not, but a thoughtful gift just the same. So then I thought, if my little angel of destruction could make such a sweet gesture than I can as well. So I am praying for opportunities to be kind to others, because it makes me happy.

If he can be sweet then I can too.

San Diego {part 1}

We traveled to the beautiful land of San Diego last weekend to spend time with Mark and his family. Mark was very organized and prepared an awesome weekend for us. Friday night we split up and went out to eat. Some had Rubio's and the rest of us had Thai {my FAV!}. Once we got home Bret and I played Settlers with Mark and Kirk.

Saturday they went to the temple in two different groups {early birds went at 6am and then had an intense cross training session at a local gym} You can guess I wasn't with the early bird group. afterward we all met at Cafe Coyote for lunch. The restaurant has won several awards several years in a row.

{Rennai, forgive me for drinking this entire horchata with out you}
I also had the Margarita Shrimp Tacos. Best shrimp tacos EVER.

After lunch we headed to the BYU game. It was actually a really good game {Not like today's game}. Everyone was so helpful with our napless kids. Thanks!

Lo ran out of steam and zonked out. {Non-stop eating and chewing wears her out.}

Happy fella's after the big win.

San Diego {part 2}

And now the reason we went to San Diego in the first place was for this little man's Blessing.

Mark and Holly's ward was very pleasant and they prepared a feast of a variety of tacos for us afterward and the best apple pie I think I have ever had. And of course we played Settlers.

In Threes

Bret and I take turns each year planning our anniversary and this year was my turn. Because we were moving the day of our anniversary my plans were delayed until further notice. After weeks of unpacking and crazy schedules it got to the point where we just wrote it off and decided not to do anything... or at least that's what I let Bret think.

Since it is our 3rd yr together the whole night was planned in threes. I arranged for a babysitter and planned a 3 part evening for just the two of us. Everything was pretty simple but I covered our house in over 100 tea lights which looked BEAUTIFUL! Part One started with a 3 course meal of Steak, glazed potatoes and sauteed green beans with sparkling cider. Dinner was followed by a 3 layer dessert. Part two was my favorite part which is still in the works but I included a teaser photo until it is finished. Part three was a movie together which is a simple thing we almost never enjoy alone.

I know it wasn't anything brilliant or spectacular but these days spending "alone" time is more than special enough for me. Plus, I'm fortunate enough to look back on the past 3 years and exclaim "I'm so lucky!!!". What more can someone ask for?

It has begun...

Despite my efforts to prolong the inevitable, Lo is now crawling and climbing into everything. I know it may have seemed like bad parenting when I intentionally kept her from situations that would promote crawling and yet it has begun. She is terribly cute and determined much to my demise. How can something so sweet and adorable be so fast, have such a death grip and a heightened awareness for breakable things and electronics. Blast!

I truly love my crazy life.

illustration to the former

What was I thinking when I didn't post a picture (in accordance to my former post)? Oh that's right, I was thinking I would keep a little dignity for myself. I see now that, that was unfair to you readers and that the story is incomplete without the illustration. I also forgot to mention that I was waxing my eyebrows for a special night I planned out for our 3rd year anniversary. At least I can pretty much guarantee he will remember this night forever.
{Fully exposed with no makeup, why bother with half an eyebrow anyway}

Can't wait to sport my new look in public!

I'm so Gangsta.

I made the mistake of waxing my eyebrows in the same room as King. It's funny how kids have perfect timing. Consequently I have half an eyebrow above my left eye. Don't worry though, it's only noticeable if you look at it. I am thinking about getting a temporary piercing there just to capitalize on my new gangsta look.

Surprisingly, I didn't react at Kingston, after all I should know better. Somethings are just not worth getting upset about, especially when it's as funny as taking off an eyebrow.

go switch flipper GO! {as in going PRIVATE}

We are going private ya'll. We're gonna flip the switch next Thursday, late... or Friday or sometime in November {Brian Regan plug}. You can be invited by sending your address {HERE}.

Bone Baby and play things

Miss Bones is so cute I can't help but smile and kiss her cheeks.
Kingston cracks me up when I find play things staged in little corners of my house. They must be good friends.

Sneak a Peek

I've been told there are some readers who might be interested in pictures of our new home. It's not put together just yet but I am posting pictures of some simple things we have been working on. I am trying not to let decorating or the house consume my life so I am forcing myself to approach it patiently one thing at a time with the exception of the last few weeks of working frantically to get things under control and livable and now I am satisfied .

{look for before and after photos HERE}
